Location

Shape is based in Bordeaux and operates worldwide thanks to a team of 20 people across France, Portugal, Italy, the Baltics, China and Indonesia.
With major clients in Europe, Oceania and Latin America, we capture the essence of trends across geographies while delivering quality inspired by French savoir-faire.

We are FSC® certified

Eco-packaging

We are using recycled and recyclable material for our packaging: cardboard, paper bag, paper wrapping, … We are targeting zero-plastic for our packaging material.
Integrity of the products is not compromised by durability as our eco-designed packaging can comply with any level of the ISTA standard you need.

EUTR traceability

In accordance with the European law and other major’s countries policies, we trace down wood origin to ensure legality of the wood in our products.

BSCI factory

We care about sustainable development for the people and the workers. Our products are only produced in BSCI accredited production units, or equivalent standard.

Safety standards for domestic usage

We are expert in all European domestic use standard for any type of products: kids items, chairs, tables, beds, storage.
We ensure the durability, stability as well as the safety of the material (REACH SVHC, Annex 17, LVD, EN71-3, … ).
We perform in-house testing to guaranty the minimum safety and coordinate with 3rd party labs to get official approval of the products.

Safety standards for professional usage

We have developed the next level of expertise to provide products compliant with professional use.
We have a complete understanding of this high demanding standard, for which every inch of the product matters.

Olivier Toulouse

Pursuing the ambitious goal of creating the "right" product, the product that seems obvious while combining values of pleasure, elegance and sharing, Olivier seeks to provide people with objects that meet their needs and that live together happily. In order to better understand these needs, he constantly observes and listens to how people live. "I don't draw for me, I draw for them."

Jose Garball

Spain

Award-winner European designer, with an international profile, all the cultural influences of the countries he visited and lived in are reflected in his designs. Blending mid-century style with a post minimalist approach, looking for elegance in the product, smooth and discreet curves, incorporating new sustainable materials and techniques, prevailing functionality but still with character. The extreme care of the details and their integration into the objects, make these become an essential part of the design.

Eugénie Mesquita

Belgium

French designer based in Brussels, Eugénie draws from a diverse blend of influences – from crafts to industrial design, 1900’s-1960’s furniture and movements like the Wiener Wersktätte, but also her illustration practice. She seeks to create modern objects with a timeless appeal, and to achieve the right balance between functionality and aesthetics. She uses clean lines, subtle curves and patterns, and pays special attention to proportions and details, to create pieces that are accessible yet distinctive, standing apart from the ordinary.
